NetZero Says Marketing Costs Added to Loss

Internet access provider NetZero Inc. said its fiscal fourth-quarter net loss widened to $42 million, or 36 cents a share, from $26.9 million, or 26 cents, a year ago, as revenue fell 36% to $12 million. Analysts expected a loss of 34 cents, according to Thomson Financial/ First Call.

The company said spending on marketing contributed to the loss. NetZero shares closed unchanged at 62 cents on Nasdaq.
