Raining Data Corp., an Irvine maker of Web-enabled software, said Wednesday that directors have named veteran technology executive Carlton H. Baab as president and chief executive and elected Geoffrey P. Wagner as chairman.

Baab, a managing principal at Astoria Capital Management, replaces the company’s former chairman, Bryce Burns, who had been interim chief executive since January when Gilbert Figueroa quit. Burns will remain on the board.

Raining Data, formed in December by the merger of PickAx Inc. and Omnis Technology Corp., also said that Richard Lauer, named as president and chief operating officer after Figueroa left, and Tim Holland, the chief technical officer, have quit “to pursue other business opportunities.”
