Fire Moves Closer to Division Title

Eric Wynalda and Ante Razov scored in the second half to rally the Chicago Fire to a 2-1 victory Wednesday night over the Columbus Crew at Chicago.

Goalie Zach Thornton earned his league-leading 15th victory as the Fire (15-6-4) moved 10 points ahead of second-place Columbus (11-7-6) in the Central Division and within two points of clinching the division.

Eric Wynalda made it 1-1 with his 10th goal of the season, tying a career high, in the 50th minute.

Razov capitalized on a mistake by goalie Tom Presthus to score in the 57th minute.
