Westwood Kehilla Synagogue and Aish Hatorah will present “Spiritual Responses to Sept. 11” from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Radisson Airport Hotel, 6225 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles.

The conference will focus on Jewish responses to evil, as well as regaining confidence, security and a sense of purpose.

“We will attempt to find ways to concretize this newfound awareness into specific, practical long-term game plans of chesed [acts of kindness], empathy, business ethics, positive speech and closer family ties with the guidance of 3,000 years of Jewish wisdom. Our response to evil must be for us to become better human beings,” said Rabbi Eli Stern, the temple’s outreach director.
