El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument needs docents to lead morning tours of Olvera Street and the surrounding historic buildings for schoolchildren, tourists and other groups. Docent training classes will be held in January and February. Information: (213) 628-1274.

* Interfaith Caregivers of San Gabriel Valley needs volunteers to help housebound, elderly, disabled and ill people by making phone calls, assisting with shopping and errands, transporting them to doctors’ appointments and visiting them. Training is provided. Information: (626) 918-3733.

* Westside Food Bank needs volunteer office support for five to 10 hours at the beginning of each month. The food bank also needs volunteers to work in the organization’s garden plot, growing and harvesting vegetables to give to social service agencies.
