Microsoft Hires Legal Compliance Officers

Microsoft Corp. announced it has appointed two compliance officers to help it meet legal obligations, including the proposed antitrust consent decree with the Justice Department and nine states.

Odell Guyton, 46, a former federal prosecutor, will serve as director of compliance, overseeing an education and compliance assurance program.

The company named David Dadoun, 37, a former antitrust enforcement lawyer with the Federal Trade Commission, to be internal antitrust compliance officer.

Though it has reached a proposed settlement with nine states and the federal government, Microsoft still faces legal challenges from nine other states.
