From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Ellie Nesler, who served time for the 1993 courtroom slaying of a man accused of molesting her son, faced charges Monday of furnishing methamphetamine and buying an ingredient to make the drug.

Police testified at a preliminary hearing that Nesler, 49, gave a small amount of the drug to an informant, then bought 10,000 pseudoephedrine pills from him. Nesler was to pay for the pills later after putting up collateral of her car’s ownership and a home computer.

After searching Nesler’s home, however, police found no evidence of drug manufacturing or use. If convicted, she could face 13 years in prison.
