Micky Dolenz of the Monkees, who appeared last week on “The Drew Carey Show” and has been touring this year as part of the ‘60s pop group, has purchased a West Valley home for just under $1 million.

Dolenz also put his former home, in Sherman Oaks, on the market at $625,000.

His new home is on an equestrian property in a guard-gated community. It has four bedrooms in about 3,000 square feet.

Built in 1985, the Spanish Mediterranean-style home is on more than an acre and has valley views and a pool with a spa.

The home he is selling has four bedrooms in about 2,200 square feet. The 1950 house, behind gates, has a fireplace and decks with a spa and city views.

Dolenz, 56, has lived in the Sherman Oaks home since about 1992.

He was one of four young men who beat out more than 400 in a general audition to become the American answer to the Beatles on the NBC sitcom “The Monkees,” which ran for two seasons in the late ‘60s.

The TV show won an Emmy for outstanding comedy series in 1967. The Monkees went on to star in the feature film “Head” (1969) and released a number of albums with such hit songs as “Daydream Believer,” “Last Train to Clarksville” and “I’m a Believer” before disbanding in the early ‘70s.

Dolenz, singer-drummer of the Monkees, became a director, producer and screenwriter but reunited during the ‘80s with Davy Jones and Peter Tork, two other original band members. Before this year’s tour, the three went on tour in ‘86, ‘87, ‘89, ’96 and ’97. The group plans to tour England in the spring and the U.S. in the summer.

Dolenz is also known for doing voices for animated films, and he was in “The Brady Bunch Movie” (1995).

Desiree Zuckerman with Re/Max Olson Estate Brokerage, Westlake Village, has the listing and represented Dolenz in buying his new home. Kevin Godley of the same realty office had the listing on the house that Dolenz purchased.

Kelsey Grammer has purchased a newly built home on a beach in Malibu. The house had been listed at $6.9 million.

The “Frasier” star and his wife, model Camille Donatacci, have another Malibu home on nearly five acres, which he purchased in 1998 for $4.5 million, but it’s in the hills, looking down at the ocean.

Their new beachfront home is behind gates and has five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in about 2,400 square feet. New England traditional in style, it has a large country kitchen, a den, a formal dining room and five fireplaces.

The Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning Grammer, 46, has starred on “Frasier,” since “Cheers,” in which he played the same character, ended in 1993.

Nicolas Cage, who stars with Meryl Streep in the upcoming movie “Adaptation,” has purchased some vacant land in Bel-Air for close to $6 million, real estate sources say.

Cage bought the one-acre site from clothing designer Mossimo Giannulli, who took ownership of the land as partial payment in March for a Bel-Air home he sold.

The site Cage bought was known for years as the late actress Merle Oberon’s estate. It was sold a couple of years ago, with a house on it, for $9.25 million. The buyer razed the house, then changed his mind about building there and resold the property.

The Oscar-winning actor, 37, owns other Westside real estate, including homes in town and at the beach.

“Adaptation” is due out next year.

Pam Shriver, ESPN tennis commentator and former tennis champion, has put her Brentwood home on the market at $895,000.

She bought another house in the L.A. area and is planning to marry actor George Lazenby, who made his film debut as James Bond in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (1969). A native of Australia, Lazenby, 62, was the first actor to replace Sean Connery as Bond.

The home that Shriver, 39, is selling has three bedrooms and two bathrooms in slightly more than 2,700 square feet, and was built in 1940. Shriver has owned the house for about five years.

Shriver was one of the greatest doubles players in the history of women’s tennis. She reached the final of her first U.S. Open in 1978.

Kay Pick and Jonathan Canter of Coldwell Banker Previews, Beverly Hills, have the listing, and they represented Shriver in buying her new home, which had been listed by Chrys Stamatis of Coldwell Banker.

Screenwriter Harley Peyton (“Bandits,” starring Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton) has purchased a Hollywood Hills home for close to $1.3 million.

The four-bedroom, Spanish-style home, in the Sunset Plaza area, was built in 1924 and was recently restored and updated. The 3,000-square-foot house also has a guest apartment and city views.

Rick Llanos of Coldwell Banker, Hancock Park, represented Peyton in buying the house; Dominic Middono Jr. and Werner Schroeder of Regal Estates had the listing.

Jeffrey Wong, co-owner of Warning Model Management in Beverly Hills, has purchased a Bel-Air home for close to its $2.2-million asking price.

Wong bought a 5,400-square-foot house on 1.5 acres. He plans to do a major renovation before moving into the house next summer.
