From Times Wire Reports

The search for human remains in the World Trade Center ruins will continue on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

As it did on Thanksgiving, the recovery and cleanup effort will continue at ground zero, where remains still are being found, Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani said Sunday.

“The people working at ground zero are going to be volunteers, people who have volunteered to work on Christmas, understanding the fact that there is still a situation where time is of the essence in trying to recover as many human remains as possible,” Giuliani said.

Christmas Day will mark 15 weeks since nearly 3,000 people died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the trade center.

The mayor said religious services will be held at the site during the holidays.
