An insurance executive, a utilities official and the former city administrator are among six appointees to an oversight committee that will keep an eye on Proposition F, the nearly $533-million bond measure passed by voters last year.

The measure will fund 19 new neighborhood fire and paramedic stations and an emergency helicopter and air operations center at Van Nuys Airport. Eight animal shelters will be renovated or expanded.

Los Angeles City Council President Alex Padilla named three people to focus on the fire projects: Phyllis Currie, general manager of the Pasadena Department of Water and Power; Marc Jacoby, president of J-Mar Associates Insurance Services; and John Ornelas, a former San Fernando city administrator.

Three others were named to oversee the animal shelter work: James W. Odom, business representative for Sheet Metal Workers Local 108 and a member of the Los Angeles Building Trades Council executive board; Joe Feinstein, an agent with Realty Professionals Inc. and a block captain in his neighborhood; and Cecilia Nunez, who works for the law firm of Bragg, Short, Serota & Kuluva.
