High-Speed Trains
Re “Choo-choosing the Right Track for Future Transport,” by George Skelton, Dec. 24: Many industries benefit by not having good public transportation, such as a high-speed train. The automotive, aircraft, airline, insurance and road construction industries benefit by having inefficient transportation. There are many other secondary industries that benefit by the inefficiencies. The cost to consumers is time and productivity wasted by driving on jammed freeways.
