Deadline Is Jan. 7 for ArtWalks Submissions
Competition for selection as a “featured artist” at Ventura’s upcoming ArtWalks will close Jan. 7, city officials announced this week.
The winners will be chosen by a panel of artists, downtown merchants and gallery owners.
The ArtWalks draw as many as 10,000 visitors.
Each event showcases one featured artist, whose work will be used in promotional materials and be displayed in a daylong exhibition.
Three featured artists will be selected for the events being staged next summer and fall and in the spring of 2003.
Candidates must submit resumes and 10 color slides of their work by 5 p.m. on Jan. 7.
