Road to Close for ‘ER’ TV Filming

Share

Hollywood returns to Ventura County this week as television’s “ER” shoots scenes of a mock train wreck in Fillmore, beginning Friday.

Mountain View Street, between Santa Clara Avenue and Main Street, will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Feb. 8. Film crews will be shooting the 150th episode of the popular hospital drama, a Warner Bros. spokesman said Wednesday.

Some cast members will be on hand during the shoot, the spokesman said, but he declined to give further information.

Most filming will take place from dusk to 10 p.m. over three nights, said Steve McClary, Fillmore’s film permit coordinator. Crews will shoot a post-train collision scene in which helicopters fly in medical help. The copters will swoop into town from the east and fly low over the railroad right-of-way, McClary said.

Warner Bros. is paying compensation to residents of the blocked-off area, McClary said, and the city will receive a $5,000 encroachment fee, plus other fees.

The episode is scheduled to air Feb. 22.
