Alcohol in the Air

Regarding the article “Misbehavior Aloft Less Likely to Go Unpunished” (Travel Insider, Jan. 14): I feel strongly that alcohol should not be served on any flight. No one needs to get “boozed up” to get on a plane. A prescribed sedative would be much better for all concerned.
I manage the airport in South Bend, Ind., and we would be the first to go dry if the FAA or the airlines would mandate it. It will take a horrific incident to get this off the ground, but that will, I’m sure, happen sooner rather than later.
