Bag With $253,000 Is Stolen at LAX
A bag containing $253,000 in cash and jewelry was stolen from a traveler who was unloading his luggage at Los Angeles International Airport, police said Thursday.
The Beverly Hills-based businessman turned his back on his luggage about 10 p.m. Wednesday, and in seconds the bag was taken, said LAX police Lt. Karen Schulz. The man was near a crowded curbside at the Tom Bradley terminal, Schulz said.
An investigation was continuing Thursday, police said.
