Parnes, Halvorsen Take Standard Pacific Titles
* Andrew H. Parnes and Clay A. Halvorsen have been named senior vice presidents at Standard Pacific Corp. in Irvine.
Parnes is senior vice president-finance, treasurer and chief financial officer. Parnes joined the company in 1989 and was appointed vice president-finance in 1997. He was promoted to chief financial officer in 1996 and has been the company’s treasurer since 1991.
Halvorsen, who joined Standard Pacific in 1998 as vice president, general counsel and secretary, is responsible for all of the corporation’s legal matters. From 1985 to 1997, Halvorsen practiced law with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
* Steven L. Krongold has been named a senior counsel at the Irvine office of Arter & Hadden LLP. He will be a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. Krongold joined the law firm after 14 years of private practice.
* Jim Hitchcock and Eric Wu have joined CIBC Oppenheimer in Newport Beach as executive directors-investments. Hitchcock was previously with Prudential Securities for six years, working in the Century City and Newport Beach offices, most recently as first vice president. Wu had been first vice president at Prudential Securities in Laguna Hills.
* John W. O’Brien has been named partner of Gutherie Development Co. in Laguna Hills. He was formerly project director for Burke Development and director of asset management for Burke Asset Management Inc.
* Michael S. Kelly has been named a partner in the Irvine law firm of Marshack Shulman & Hodges. Kelly has been with the firm since 1998. He was formerly affiliated with Lewis, D’Amato, Brisbois & Bisgaard in Costa Mesa; Kircher & Nakazato in Newport Beach; Dryden, Margoles, Schimaneck, Kelly & Wait in Claremont, and Haight, Brown & Bonesteel in Riverside.
* Gary Frederickson has been appointed studio manager and senior designer at the advertising agency of Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder in Newport Beach. He was previously a designer at JNCO Jeans U.S.A. in Los Angeles, an art director at MET-Rx and a designer at Graphix Zone, both in Irvine.
* Ted Willie has joined JMG Security Systems in Fountain Valley as operations manager. He was previously vice president of operations for Post Alarm and before that, held management positions at NACC in Irvine.
