The world’s fourth-busiest airport saw more than 67.6 million passengers traverse its terminals and about 2.24 million tons of cargo pass across its loading docks in 2000, a 5.8% increase in both categories over 1999. Ontario International Airport, owned and operated by LAX parent agency Los Angeles World Airports, also logged record passenger traffic of 6.74 million and record cargo volume of 6.75 tons last year, 2.7% and 4.5% increases respectively over 1999.
