Roney Is Corporate Capital’s Senior V.P.

Guy Joseph Roney III has joined Corporate Capital Group in Costa Mesa as a senior vice president. He was formerly executive vice president for the Gary Leeds Group and regional director of development for Holiday Inn Corp. Roney was also development manager for McMahon Development Group.

* Vane P. Clayton has been appointed president of the Troy Group Inc.’s wireless subsidiary, Troy XCD, in Santa Ana. Clayton succeeds Keith Sugawara, who will assume the role of senior vice president of sales and marketing. Clayton was formerly vice president of marketing at Flashcom Inc. and served as chief executive and president of SOS Wireless Communications in Irvine.

* Kathy Fowler has been named network sales manager, Orange County, for Univision Communications. She had been an account executive in Univision network sales. Before working at Univision, she was a media buyer and planner for DBC Ad Americas in the San Francisco office.

* Citizens Business Bank has appointed Helen Chavez vice president and manager of its Plaza office and Richard W. Simons vice president and manager of the Stadium office, both in Orange County. Chavez was formerly vice president and branch manager of Bank of America and national consumer loan center sales and service manager. Simons had been vice president and senior commercial loan officer for Community Bank in Anaheim, and vice president and district manager of Chase Manhattan Bank in Newport Beach.

* Scott Anderson has joined FCB Southern California as director of public relations. He was previously account supervisor, public relations at the Detroit office of FCB Worldwide.

* Philip Hashway, chief operating officer of UltraLink in Costa Mesa, has been appointed chief executive. Jeff Graves, formerly chief executive, was named vice chairman of the board of directors. Before joining UltraLink, Hashway was senior director for Compaq Computer Corp. in Houston, where he was responsible for new business development, worldwide service and support, and worldwide service marketing. He has also been worldwide service logistics director for Dell Computer Corp. in Austin, Texas, and held management positions at Inmac, Wang Laboratories, W.R. Grace and Co., Polaroid Corp. and Xerox Corp.

* Joseph N. Matlock Jr. has joined the board of directors of MindArrow Systems Inc. in Aliso Viejo. Matlock is chairman and chief executive of Iliad Partners. He has been chairman, president and chief executive of Franklin Federal and executive vice president of Bank of America-Texas.

* David M. Wood has been named director, Internet solutions for Schraff Group, a Newport Beach marketing company. Wood was previously a partner at MarchFirst. Before that, he was vice president, marketing at the U.S. headquarters of Tel Aviv-based GEO Interactive Media Group and director of worldwide branding and worldwide marketing and communications for Xircom.

* Robin Peters has been appointed regional manager for the Southwest territory for Verteq in Santa Ana. She was formerly U.S. sales and account manager for Peter Wolters of America. Before that, she was Southwest region sales manager for IPEC Planar Inc.

* Ann Cadier Kim has been appointed executive vice president of finance for Wet Seal Inc., a Foothill Ranch-based apparel and accessories retailer. She had been senior vice president of finance since 1998. She will continue as chief financial officer. Kim joined the company in 1986 as controller and was promoted to vice president of finance in 1994. Wet Seal also named Norman Shaw senior vice president of management information systems, and Sharon Hughes senior vice president of merchandising. Shaw had been vice president of management information systems since joining Wet Seal in 1998. Before that, he was with JDA Software Canada Ltd. as director of marketing. Hughes was promoted from the position of vice president of merchandising. In her new role, Hughes will oversee all merchandising activities for the recently acquired Zutopia chain. In addition, Mathieu Nuygen has joined the company as vice president of creative services. Nuygen was formerly corporate director of creative services at Brookstone Inc.

* Susan Howington has been named senior vice president and general manager in the Irvine office of Lee Hecht Harrison. She had been vice president of business development.

* Michael J. Hajeck has been named senior vice president of sales for Simple Technology Inc. in Santa Ana. He was previously vice president of the company’s SiliconTech Inc. division.
