Red Cross Offers Courses in Adult CPR This Weekend

Share

At least 250 people are expected at the American Red Cross-sponsored “Super CPR Saturday” that will offer discount adult CPR classes.

The 10th annual event at the Glendale-Crescenta Valley chapter attracts people who have already taken a CPR class as well as those who have never learned the potentially life-saving procedure, said Mark Keith, chapter spokesman.

“It’s a mixed crowd. We send out fliers to people who have already taken a CPR class with us, and that results in 30% to 40% of those who come to Super CPR Saturday,” Keith said.

The Red Cross recommends that after completing a full CPR course, which takes three to four hours, people should take a review course annually.

Saturday’s offering is the full adult CPR course. Infant CPR will not be offered.

New classes will start every 20 minutes from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the last class scheduled to end at 4:30. The classes are being held at the Glendale-Crescenta Valley chapter, 1501 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale.

The cost is $10 for advance registration; $12 at the door. To register, call (818) 243-3121.
