Hayden’s Address

* Tom Hayden’s opponents seek to criticize him on his recent change of residence (“Foes Question Hayden’s Official Residency in Aide’s Guest House,” Feb. 22). Legislative districts for federal, state and local representatives are drawn for arbitrary and political purposes--his City Council district is drawn differently than his Senate district. But Hayden has represented the community of the 5th District for many years, and he has spent all those years working on behalf of the needs and interests of these residents. He has done more for this district than all of his opponents combined. Maybe they are throwing stones because they have no record to speak of.
