UCI’s Zervoudakis Wins Diving Title

Ted Zervoudakis of UC Irvine won the three-meter diving title Saturday at the Big West Conference men’s swimming and diving championships at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.

Zervoudakis totaled 425.65 points in the competition, edging teammate Blair Roberts (404.75). UCI sophomore Kin Wong, who won the 100 butterfly Friday, finished second in the 200 butterfly (1:51.53). The Anteaters placed third in the five-team competition.

UCI finished fourth in the women’s competition, which was also won by UC Santa Barbara. UCI’s Allison Magda finished second in the one-meter diving, less than half a point behind winner Ariana Rademaker of Cal Poly (206.55).

In the Texas softball tournament:

Wisconsin 2, Cal State Fullerton 1 (9)--The Titans’ Brenda Iglesias doubled home Yasmin Mossadeghi to tie the score in the bottom of the second, but Wisconsin (6-6) pushed across a run in the ninth to win it.
