2 Die in Collision of Boat and Ferry
A ferry and a smaller boat collided in heavy fog, killing two people and injuring a third aboard the smaller vessel, authorities said.
The Atlantis, a 116-foot ferry, was making its regular run from Fort Myers Beach to Key West when it collided with the 22-foot pleasure craft about 15 miles from Marco Island, off the coast of southwestern Florida.
The victims were all aboard the smaller boat. One person died at the scene and another died of chest and spinal injuries at a Fort Myers hospital, a Coast Guard spokesman said.
