Washington’s Gioconda Mendiola scored a career-high 10 points in leading the Huskies to a 73-54 victory over the Bruins in a Pac-10 opener at Seattle.
UCLA’s Michelle Greco led all scorers with 19 points, but her shooting touch arrived late. Greco did not score in the first half.
Washington (8-3, 1-0) is off to its best start since opening the 1997-98 season 10-0.
The Bruins (1-11, 0-1) have lost five in a row.
