For Health Bought for $7.4 Million in Stock

Geriatrix, a senior care management organization based in San Diego, said Monday it acquired For Health Inc. of Costa Mesa for $7.4 million in stock.

The two companies are part of a growing area of health care that provides enhanced Medicare services to elderly residents of nursing homes, Geriatrix said.

Geriatrix has operations in Oklahoma and Michigan, and San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. For Health provides services in Los Angeles and Orange counties, Rhode Island and Arizona.

Geriatrix said it plans to expand into New York City early this year.
