Myra H. Bank, a former secretary and treasurer, died Monday in Ventura following a brief illness. She was 89.

She was born Dec. 5, 1911, in Grove City, Minn., and lived in Ventura County for 69 years.

In 1931, she married Ronald Bank, and for more than 50 years they worked together at Ronald Bank Inc. clothiers in Ventura. She was secretary and treasurer of the corporation.

She was one of the founding members of Temple Beth Torah in Ventura and temple president in 1948. She was also a president of the Sisterhood, named woman of the year in 1956, was a patron of the Ventura County Historical Museum and a longtime secretary of the United Jewish Appeal of Ventura County.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Natalie Lewis of San Francisco and Paula Reach of Oxnard, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. today at Temple Beth Torah, with Rabbi Lisa Hochberg-Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to Temple Beth Torah, Bank Family Library Fund, 7620 Foothill Road, Ventura CA 93004.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura.
