Nancy Parsons; Played Gym Teacher in ‘Porky’s’

Nancy Parsons, 58, character actress remembered as the sexually repressed gym teacher in the early 1980s films “Porky’s” and its sequels. A native of Minnesota, she began acting in 1977, making her motion picture debut in “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” and in the television film “Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night.” She went on to appear in several movies on both the large and small screens and in such television series as “L.A. Law” and “The Pretender.” Parsons occasionally delved into local theater, including “Four Legs Good” at Theatre East in Studio City in 1991, when a Times reviewer described her acting as “glowingly Earth Mother-like.” But Parsons was most memorable as arch-villainous Beulah Balbricker of the three “Porky’s” high school romps. Through the first two films, she was the strident gym teacher in gut-popping shorts terrorizing the teenage heroes, and in the third, far thinner, the actress became a sex symbol.
