Doctor Pleads Guilty in Attack on Mistress

NEW YORK —
A doctor pleaded guilty to assault and abortion charges for repeatedly stabbing his pregnant mistress with a drug-filled syringe to try to induce an abortion.
Dr. Stephen Pack, 44, will receive no more than three years in jail when he is sentenced.
Joy Schepis, 31, gave birth to the couple’s healthy boy Nov. 28. “I’m glad that he accepted responsibility for what he did,” she said Thursday.
