Peace Is No Walk in the Dog Park

* Re “Neighbors Seek to Curb Barks at Busy Dog Park,” Jan. 2:

Thank you for publishing some of the neighborhood’s concerns over the noisy dog park that’s almost in our backyards. I don’t know when Director of Community Services Ron Hagen set up his noise-level, dog-barking detector meter, but it certainly wasn’t working during the times we hear the loud noise.

Since I am the closest resident to the dog park, my noise-tolerance decibel meter reads in the red when I hear 30 dogs barking at once any time of day. If I let my three dogs bark in this manner, I’d be cited by the city in a minute. Since when does Huntington Beach not have to follow its own noise ordinances? The dog park doggies need to move away from our neighborhood and go bark up another tree!
