Share

The “livability” of downtown Los Angeles will be the topic of a symposium at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Los Angeles Center Studios, 1201 W. 5th St. in Los Angeles. Sponsored by the USC Architecture Guild, the event will be led by Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), a leading proponent of housing as an important component of downtowns. The symposium will feature presentations by developer John Williams, chief executive of Post Properties, who will discuss the company’s downtown developments in other cities, and remarks by Los Angeles mayoral candidates, who have been invited to outline their thoughts on policies aimed at making downtown Los Angeles into a 24-hour city. Admission is $75 for nonmembers of the USC Architecture Guild. For information or reservations, call (213) 743-4454.
