The free-throw line is often referred to as the charity stripe, but it has been a source of aggravation for Camarillo during its current five-game losing streak.
Camarillo (9-9, 0-1) has made only 66% of its free throws during a five-game skid that includes losses of two, three, five and six points.
The Scorpions were 11 of 20 in a 53-51 loss to Rio Mesa in a Pacific View League game last Wednesday.

Victor Lazcano will replace injured Tunde Alonge in Rio Mesa’s starting lineup when the Spartans play at Hueneme in a Pacific View League game Wednesday.
Alonge, a 6-3 1/2 senior swingman who is averaging 11.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 blocked shots a game for the Spartans (9-8, 2-0), fractured a bone in his left hand in a 53-51 victory against Camarillo last Wednesday.
Alonge, who figured he sustained the injury while slapping at a ball that was in the grasp of Camarillo’s Jared Jungwirth, scored 13 points in a 60-58 loss to Santa Barbara on Friday. But an X-ray on Saturday revealed the injury that will sideline him two to four weeks.
“We need someone to step in and fill those 12 points and eight rebounds a game,” said Coach Chris Nordquist of Rio Mesa. “We need it to come from somewhere.”
