USC Recognized for Leadership
The Assn. of American Colleges and Universities has named USC a “leadership institution.”
Debra Humphreys, a spokeswoman for the association, said USC was chosen for its innovative undergraduate learning programs.
USC was one of 16 colleges to receive the award.
“The schools were selected to serve as models to other schools across the country,” Humphreys said.
USC has reinvigorated its undergraduate programs, created broader academic minors, encouraged students to add minors and majors, increased hands-on learning and engaged students in community service-oriented learning, said Joseph Hellige, vice provost of academic programs.
