Two Bay Area arts groups will join forces for an installment of the Performances to Grow On series Friday in Thousand Oaks. New Pickle Circus and a cappella ensemble SoVoSo blend traditional circus arts with a variety of vocal works.

Theater

The Young Artists Ensemble will perform “Little Shop of Horrors” in the 21st annual installment of its Family Theatre Series this weekend. Alan Menken’s rocking music and the playful book and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman send this screwball tale, about a man-eating plant from outer space, rocketing into high camp.

The King, Sort of

Raymond Michael will reprise his impersonation of Elvis Presley in the 13th annual fund-raiser “Tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Saturday in Thousand Oaks. He will be joined by the 24-member Cal Lutheran University All-Star Alumni Band and Backup Singers. Proceeds benefit performing arts programs at Cal Lutheran.

Musical

The touring Argentine dance production “Tango Pasion” will be staged Wednesday at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. This lively production is all about the dancing. The music and movement are continuous, and there is no dialogue. The production is set in a Buenos Aires dance club, but there is no story, and everything in life is expressed through the various tango dance steps.
