Workers With Broadband to Double by 2005

Share

A new report predicts that the number of people with high-speed Internet links at work will double by 2005, reaching almost 90% of all employees with Internet access. The report by Jupiter Research also notes that these workers will be sharing their high-speed connections with other employees, keeping down the average connection speed. That’s bad news for entertainment companies trying to build an online audience for video, which requires an extremely fast connection to deliver TV-quality pictures. The report predicts that the number of workers with broadband connections will rise from 24.2 million in 2000 to 54.6 million in 2005.
