Thirteen people, including Mayor Dave Weaver, qualified Tuesday to run for three seats on the Glendale City Council.

Weaver is the only incumbent seeking reelection in the April 3 citywide contest.

Council members Ginger Bremberg and Sheldon Baker, whose terms expire this year, opted not to run again.

Besides the City Council race, Glendale voters will elect three Glendale Unified School District board members and three members of the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees.

Candidates for those offices run in citywide elections. Voters will be asked to select no more than three candidates in each race.

City Clerk Doris Twedt and City Treasurer Ronald Borucki will run unopposed for another term.

In addition to Weaver, the candidates for City Council are Mary W. Boger, Hamo Rostamian, Allen E. Brandstater, Tony Tartaglia, John Robert Christopher, Dave Wallis, Pam Ellis, Bob Yousefian, Larry Miller, Frank Quintero, Stephen Ropfogel and Joe Scopacasa.

The 10 candidates for school board are incumbents C. Chuck Sambar, Louise Foote and Jeanne K. Bentley, and challengers Kathleen Burke-Kelly, Greg Krikorian, Catherine Yesayan, Joe Mandoky, Bill Bodell, Wanda Dorn and Jan Bills.

And the five candidates seeking seats on the Glendale Community College board are incumbents Victor King and Mary Hamilton, who will face Remy-Lani Altar, Armine G. Hacopian and Phillip Kazanjian.
