Bloomberg News

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is selling a disposable camera for $6.84, which includes the cost of displaying photographs on the Internet, to expand its photo-processing business.

Customers who turn in the 27-exposure, 35-millimeter camera at Wal-Mart photo centers can view pictures online through a Walmart.com account, a service that would otherwise cost $2.74, the company said. Customers pay the standard price for prints, and developing takes an extra day. Photos will stay on the Web site for a month before the company starts charging a fee for storing them, a spokesman said.

Shares of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart rose 95 cents to $49.75 on the NYSE.
