The Southland’s Salutes to the Fourth

Cities and communities across Los Angeles County will host marching bands, barbecues, fireworks displays and other traditional entertainment in celebration of Independence Day. All events will be held Wednesday and will be open to the public without charge unless otherwise noted.

Alhambra--Almansor Park, 800 S. Almansor St. The city’s 15th annual Fourth of July celebration begins at 3 p.m. with a carnival, petting zoo, pony rides, entertainment, food, games and contests. A fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.

Artesia--Artesia Community Park, 12000 block of South Street. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Baldwin Park--Sierra Vista High School, 3600 Frazier Ave. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Bellflower--Today, Thompson Park, 14001 S. Bellflower Blvd. Carnival from noon to 11:30 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.

Bell Gardens--Ford Park, 8000 Scout Ave. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Burbank--Starlight Bowl, 1249 Lockheed View Drive Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission charge.

Calabasas--Calabasas High School, 22855 W. Mulholland Highway. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Castaic--Entrance to the lower lake begins at 5:30. Fireworks at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $25 per car.

Cerritos--Whitney High School, 16800 Shoemaker. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Claremont--Claremont McKenna College, 890 Columbia Ave. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission: $5.50 in advance, $8 Wednesday night.

Cudahy--Cudahy City Park next to City Hall, 5220 Santa Ana St. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Culver City--Culver City High School athletic field near the corner of Huron and Braddock. Gates open at 5 p.m.; fireworks at dusk.

Diamond Bar--Sycamore Park, Grand and Golden Springs Drive. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

El Segundo--El Segundo Recreation Park, 401 Sheldon St. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Glendora--Citrus College, 1000 W. Foothill Blvd. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Huntington Park--Huntington Park High School, 6020 Miles Ave. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Inglewood--Vincent Park, 700 Warren Lane. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Irwindale--Rock Quarry, 5050 N. Irwindale Ave. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

La Crescenta--Crescenta Valley High School, 4400 Ramsdell Ave. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

La Habra--La Habra High School, 801 W. Highlander. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission $1.

La Mirada--Today, La Mirada High School, 13520 Adelfa Drive. Celebration begins at 5:30 with music, food and games. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission charge.

Lancaster--Lancaster Municipal Stadium, 2400 W. Avenue I. Fireworks at 10 p.m. after game. Admission charge.

La Puente--Today, La Puente High School, 15615 E. Nelson Ave. Football stadium opens at 5 p.m. followed by entertainment and fireworks at 9.

La Verne--Bonita High School, 3102 D St. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission charge.

Long Beach--Veterans Stadium, 500 Lew Davis St., and also at the Queen Mary. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission is charged at both sites.

Los Angeles--Hollywood Bowl, 2301 N. Highland Ave. Fireworks at dusk. Admission charge.

Lynwood--Lynwood City Park, 3798 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Marina del Rey--Marina Harbor main channel. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Maywood--Maywood City Park, 4801 E. 58th St. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Montebello--Grant Rea Park, 600 N. Rea Drive. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Monterey Park--Barnes Park Amphitheater, 320 W. Newmark Ave. between McPherrin and Ramona avenues. This noon celebration features games, contests, musical entertainment, magic, kids crafts, food, a 2:45 p.m. sky-diving exhibition. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Northridge--Cal State Northridge’s North Campus, Zelzah Avenue and Devonshire Street. The 23rd annual “Valley of the Stars” fireworks extravaganza. Event features contests, prizes, carnival rides, a classic car show, food booths and entertainment. Gates open at 2 p.m.; fireworks at 9 p.m.

Norwalk--Cerritos College, 11110 E. Alondra Blvd. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission charge.

Pacific Palisades--Palisades High School athletic field, 15777 Bowdoin St. Fireworks spectacular at 8:45 p.m.; gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Palmdale--Palmdale High School, 2137 E. Avenue R. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Pasadena--Rose Bowl, 1001 Rose Bowl Drive. The Galaxy soccer team takes on the Columbus Crew at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. Box office opens at 4 p.m. General admission $8 to $11, which includes the game and fireworks show. Gates open at 6 p.m.; parking, $5 to $15.

Pico Rivera--El Rancho High School, 6501 S. Passons Blvd. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission charge.

Pomona--L.A. County Fairgrounds, 1101 W. McKinley Ave. Parking at Gate 17 on Fairplex Drive. The “Kaboom! Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular” will be held at the Fairplex at 9 p.m. Admission charge. Redondo Beach--Redondo Beach Pier, 100 W. Torrance Blvd. Entertainment at 5 p.m.; fireworks at 9 p.m.

San Marino--Lacy Park, 1485 Virginia. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission $5.

San Pedro--Angel’s Gate Park, 3601 S. Gaffey St. Features live music beginning at noon and family activities ending in a 9 p.m. fireworks show. The Korean Friendship Bell, which is rung three times a year in accordance with Korean custom, will be rung.

San Pedro--Cabrillo Beach, Shoshoean Road. Fireworks at dusk.

Santa Clarita--Open area, across from Valencia Mall, 26340 Citrus Ave. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Santa Fe Springs--Los Nietos Park, 11143 Charlesworth. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

South El Monte--Shively School, Central and Santa Anita avenues. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

South Gate--South Gate Park, Atlantic and Southern. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Whittier--York Field, 9110 Santa Fe Springs Road. Gates open at 5 p.m. Concessions and entertainment. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission charge.

Woodland Hills--Pierce College, 6201 Winnetka Ave. Fireworks at dusk. Admission charge.
