Parliament Approves Crown Prince’s Marriage

The Dutch parliament approved the wedding of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander to Maxima Zorreguieta, despite concerns about her family’s links to Argentina’s former military government.
Several legislators said they opposed the marriage because Zorreguieta’s father was a member of the 1976-83 military government in Argentina, which was allegedly responsible for the deaths or disappearances of thousands of its opponents.
