10 am: Tour

Michael Rubel and his friends spent more than 20 years constructing what has come to be known as the Glendora Castle, Rubelia or the Tin Palace. The home was built using cement, bottles, discarded pipes, old telephone poles, shovels, railroad ties and other miscellaneous “junk.” On Saturday, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County will host a tour of the structure, led by Warren Asa, one of the homebuilders.
