Man Who Kidnapped, Assaulted Girl Gets Life
A man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl was sentenced to life in prison Thursday as a packed courtroom cheered.
Curtis Dean Anderson, 40, plucked the girl off a Vallejo street and kept her chained to the passenger seat of his car. He refused to feed her, forced her to drink alcohol and repeatedly sexually assaulted her last August. She eventually escaped and flagged down a truck driver. Vallejo is about 30 miles northeast of San Francisco.
Anderson, found guilty in May of kidnapping and 10 sex charges, read a statement but did not apologize or express any remorse.
