After questioning whether he was still wanted, David Robinson is staying with the San Antonio Spurs. The 10-time all-star center, who became a free agent July 1, on Thursday agreed to a two-year contract to remain with the Spurs.

“We did some talking and we worked it out,” Robinson’s agent, Jeff Austin, told SportsTicker. “It was a good conclusion for both sides.”

The deal cannot be officially announced by the Spurs until Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the free-agent signing period. The new salary cap will be set a day earlier. Spur spokesman Tom James would not confirm the deal, saying no deal can be revealed until Wednesday.
