Man ‘on a Mission’ Escapes Bank With Cash
From Times Staff Reports
A robber with a gun and a cell phone walked into a Seal Beach bank Monday and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.
“He was on a mission,” Sgt. Ron LaVelle, a spokesman for the Seal Beach police, said of the robber, whom he described as an Asian man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, wearing wire-rimmed glasses and blue denim pants and jacket.
The robber approached three tellers at a World Savings Bank, demanding money from each. He then fled on foot.
