Going to Pot

Our slightly more enlightened neighbors across the pond are making moves toward a more pragmatic marijuana policy, as evidenced in ‘South London Pot Smokers Are Hit With Warnings, Not Warrants’ (July 15). What will our government do when the United Kingdom takes the next logical step and legalizes cannabis? Probably rant and scream because it is undermining the hard-fought, absolute failure we call the war on drugs. In the meantime, a more sensible approach to drug policy will make the UK a safer and more productive country, as law enforcement will be free to pursue real crime.
