Scheer Rants on Bush, Saves Psychiatry Bills

Share

Robert Scheer has again gone off the deep left end of the pier. His July 17 commentary, “Politics 2001: Bush Rules, Gore Drools,” is smarmy propaganda of the lowest sort. Setting aside Bill Clinton’s personal behavior as merely “juvenile,” Scheer says, among a plethora of ranting and frothing-at the-mouth-statements, that President Bush and Republicans are “responsible for the loss of 300,000 jobs in the last three months alone,” that “Bush acts as if anointed” and that Bush’s tax cut is a “con act,” all the while deriding the “foul partisanship” of the Supreme Court, etc., ad nauseam.

Why do you bother to publish such hate-filled comments? The left wing has always before had quality spokesmen who raised public attention, not lowered its logical and aesthetic standards. Until Scheer.

When Robert “Mr. Ain’t Socialism Grand” Scheer whines that “all sorts of horrible things are happening under the Bush administration,” I kick back and feel content--the country is in good hands.

I want to thank Scheer for saving me at least $150. I was just about ready to go to a psychiatrist to find out if I was crazy for being preoccupied with wondering whatever happened to Al Gore, and why no one seemed to be screaming out in pain over the outrage that is an unbridled George W. Bush.

Are we all so in shock still over the election skulduggery that we are moribund and don’t have the strength to raise our voices? Will it really take a war between China and Taiwan, or a full-blown recession, or flooding all down the West Coast due to polar ice melting, before we yank our heads out of our home entertainment centers long enough to raise our voices?

Thanks, Bob Scheer; some of us are out here listening even if you don’t hear us crying out over the spin constantly coming from the White House.
