* Purse: $950,000. Winner’s share: $142,500.
* Television: Channel 4 (Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.).
* Last year: Sweden’s Annika Sorenstam won the rain-shortened tournament for her fifth 2000 title, closing with a birdie for a one-stroke victory over Rosie Jones.
* Last week: Emilee Klein won the Michelob Light Classic, beating Sorenstam and Jill McGill by five strokes.
* Notes: Sorenstam, also the 1998 winner, leads the tour with five victories and $1,276,767. . . . The Giant Eagle LPGA Classic is next week in Vienna, Ohio, followed by the Women’s British Open.

PGA TOUR
B.C. Open
* Site: Endicott, N.Y.
* Schedule: Today-Sunday.
* Course: En-Joie Golf Club (6,994 yards, par 72).
* Purse: $2 million. Winner’s share: $360,000.
* Television: The Golf Channel (Today-Friday, 12:30-3 p.m., 6:30-9; Saturday-Sunday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., 6:30-9).
* Last year: Brad Faxon successfully defended his title, beating Esteban Toledo by a stroke. Faxon played the tournament after failing to qualify for the British Open.
* Last week: Shigeki Maruyama became the first Japanese player to win a PGA Tour event on the mainland, beating Charles Howell III on the first hole of a playoff in the Greater Milwaukee Open.
* Notes: Faxon is skipping the tournament to play the British Open. . . . The $2-million purse is the smallest on the 2001 tour. . . . The John Deere Classic is next week in Silvis, Ill., followed by The International in Castle Rock, Colo.

SENIOR PGA TOUR
SBC Senior Open
* Site: Long Grove, Ill.
* Schedule: Friday-Sunday.
* Course: Kemper Lakes Golf Club (6,951 yards, par 72).
* Purse: $1.4 million. Winner’s share: $210,000.
* Television: Channel 2 (Saturday-Sunday, 1-3 p.m.)
* Last year: Tom Kite won the second of two 2000 titles, holding off Bruce Fleisher by two strokes.
* Last week: Allen Doyle won the Senior Players Championship, beating Doug Tewell on the first hole of a playoff. Doyle made a 35-foot birdie putt on the final hole of regulation.
* Notes: Bruce Lietzke is making his senior debut. The 13-time winner on the PGA Tour plans to play eight events this year. . . . Hale Irwin won the 1995 tournament at Stonebridge Country Club for the first of his record 31 senior titles. He also won in 1998 and 1999 at Kemper Lakes. . . . The State Farm Senior Classic is next week in Hunt Valley, Md.

Siouxland Open

* Schedule: Today-Sunday.
* Course: Dakota Dunes Country Club (7,165 yards, par 72).
* Purse: $425,000. Winner’s share: $76,500.
* Television: None.
* Last year: Spike McRoy won the first of two 2000 titles, holding off Mike Schuchart by a stroke. McRoy led the money list to top the tour’s 15 automatic qualifiers for the PGA Tour.
* Last week: Former Auburn player Jason Dufner won the Wichita Open for his first tour title, beating Jeff Gove, Todd Rose and David Gossett by three strokes.
* Notes: The tournament is one of six events that have been on the tour’s schedule since its inception in 1990. . . . The Ozarks Open is next week in Springfield, Mo.
