Panel to Discuss Tobacco Settlement Guidelines
From Times Staff Reports
An advisory committee will discuss guidelines for doling out an estimated $10 million that Ventura County receives each year as part of a national tobacco lawsuit settlement.
Committee members may adopt those “guiding principles” at their Monday meeting, at 5 p.m. in the Hall of Administration at the County Government Center in Ventura.
The group will also hear an update on how much money has accumulated in a trust set up to receive the tobacco settlement money and discuss when funds should be handed out.
