From Times Wire Reports
The city has decided to straighten out the traffic problem on the “Crookedest Street in the World.”
A road leading to the famously winding 1000 block of Lombard Street will be shut down during the summer tourist season.
The decision this week by the Parking and Traffic Commission came after years of complaints from residents about the crawling traffic. About 350 cars an hour travel down the one-block stretch of Lombard between Hyde and Leavenworth streets during the peak tourist season.
