From Times Staff Reports

The Santa Ana Zoo will break ground June 27 on its Children's Zoo-Crean Family Farm, officials said.

The $3-million facility, funded by the nonprofit Friends of Santa Ana Zoo, will feature an interactive learning area and educational, conservation and species-survival programs. The family farm and barn area, which will have interactive play structures and animal exhibits, is expected to open by March.

The zoo is at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave.
