From Times Staff and Wire Reports

An Anaheim man who was reported missing along with his 4-year-old son was arrested Friday as he tried to buy rock cocaine at a Compton restaurant, police said.

Bryon Keith Ellsberry, 35, was being held at the Anaheim city jail on suspicion of child neglect, police Lt. Joe Vargas said.

His son, Jeremiah, who was with his father at the restaurant, suffers from a rare metabolic disorder that can be fatal if he does not receive daily dietary supplements, police said. The pair had been missing since Tuesday night, when they did not return from a visit with the boy’s grandmother. They were spotted by a man who saw their picture in a flier.
