Police Officers Kill Dog They Say Lunged at Them
From Times Staff Reports
Police officers said they shot and killed a dog that lunged at them Tuesday at a home on Hartford Avenue.
The 8-year-old Rottweiler died shortly after 11 a.m. at the home. Three officers were helping Orange County Social Services officials checking on the welfare of a 9-year-old and 12-year-old, police Sgt. Joe Consoli said. The dog “charged at the officers before they could get out of the yard,” Consoli said.
