Denniston to Leave Marina del Rey Project

Peter B. Denniston said he will leave the giant real estate development project south of Marina del Rey to spend more time with his family and explore other business ventures. The 49-year-old executive said his contract with Playa Vista expires at the end of the year, but he will remain on the job until a successor is selected.

Denniston said the decision was his own and that he was not asked to leave Playa Vista, which recently won Los Angeles City Council approval for more than $168 million in public bonds for infrastructure and housing.

Denniston has been involved in Playa Vista since 1996, when he became the executive in charge of the property for developer Robert Maguire. Denniston remained as head of Playa Vista after MaguirePartners lost control of the project to an investment group.
